On Friday, July 12, 2024, the Future Food & Agriculture Platform, in collaboration with the Technology Management and Innopreneurship Program (CU TIP), Graduate School, hosted an illuminating seminar on food innovation titled “Harnessing Sustainability in the Food Sector: A Pathway to Progress.” The event was held in Room 802, on the 8th floor of the Chaloem Rajakumari 60 Building (Chamchuri 10) at Chulalongkorn University.

Professor Pornanong Aramwit, Ph.D., Acting Vice President, officially opened the event, highlighting the critical importance of food security in the face of climate change, resource scarcity, and the rapidly increasing global population. This seminar aimed to foster academic knowledge exchange among researchers, scholars, industry leaders, and policymakers to drive the development of sustainable food production systems. Warmly welcomed the seminar attendees by Assistant Professor Kavin Asavanant, Ph.D., Director of CU TIP.
ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.กวิน อัศวานันท์ ผู้อำนวยการหลักสูตรสหสาขา การจัดการเทคโนโลยีและนวัตกรรมผู้ประกอบการ (CUTIP) กล่าวต้อนรับผู้เข้าร่วมสัมมนาพร้อมด้วย ศาสตราจารย์ เภสัชกรหญิง ดร.พรอนงค์ อร่ามวิทย์ ผู้รักษาการรองอธิการบดี เป็นประธานกล่าวเปิดงาน โดยกล่าวถึงความสำคัญของความมั่นคงทางอาหารในสถานการณ์การเปลี่ยนแปลงทางสภาพภูมิอากาศ การขาดแคลนทรัพยากร และจำนวนประชากรโลกที่เพิ่มขึ้นอย่างรวดเร็ว ซึ่งการจัดสัมมนาในครั้งนี้ จัดขึ้นเพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนความรู้ทางวิชาการร่วมกับผู้เชี่ยวชาญที่เกี่ยวข้อง ทั้งนักวิจัย นักวิชากร ผู้นำด้านอุตสาหกรรม รวมไปถึงผู้กำหนดนโยบาย เพื่อผลักดันและกำหนดทิศทางการพัฒนาระบบการผลิตอาหารให้เกิดความมั่นคงและยั่งยืน
Dr. Niels Peter Nøerring, Climate Director of the Danish Agricultural & Food Council (DAFC), delivered a compelling presentation on “Carbon Reduction in the Food Sector: Exploring Challenges, Political Agendas, and Success Stories from Denmark”. He shared valuable insights into Denmark’s and the European Union's agricultural management strategies, highlighting successful projects, emerging technologies, policy frameworks, and best practices to promote transformation in the agricultural industry.

Associate Professor Mahesha Manjunatha Poojary, Ph.D., from the Department of Food Science, University of Copenhagen, presented “Researches Supporting Sustainable Food Production”. He showcased innovations in high-protein food processing, alternative food production, and the commercialization of research outcomes.

The initiative under the project to promote cooperation and potential development in food technology and innovations between Thailand and Denmark is supported by the Royal Thai Embassy, Copenhagen, Denmark, and the Office of the Vocational Education Commission.
